Dr. Temple Grandin visits Poudre High School!
The PHS Project Unify Club invited Dr. Temple Grandin to speak at Poudre High School on Tuesday, 4/3/18. Dr. Grandin spoke to students and staff about students with different kinds of minds. She captivated the audience with her many accomplishments, including work with NASA and witnessing a recent shuttle launch. Students were actively engaged with questions relating to Dr. Grandin’s inventions, her experiences throughout her schooling, and soliciting her advice about what types of careers and internships she recommends. Dr. Grandin will return to Poudre High School to work with the Robotics team and the Future Farmers of America Club.
Congratulations to the Boltz Middle School Unified Program – 2018 Cesar Chavez Student Organization Award recipient!
The Boltz Unified Program is a student-led program that supports the concept of inclusion for all and equity within a school campus. The Boltz Unified Program offers a class for students who would like to engage in Unified projects, leadership opportunities, school-wide campaigns, health and wellness, and sporting events. The class is unified with students of all ability levels and backgrounds. The students travel to Denver every year for the Special Olympics Youth Summit and organize the school-wide “R Word” campaign. It is heartwarming to see the inclusive messages that the students spread across the Boltz campus.
